The Adamawa State Government has inaugurated the administrators for 50 development areas created by the government.
The administrators to head the 50 development areas carved out of the existing 21 local government areas of the state were sworn in on Monday at a ceremony in Yola, the state capital.
Deputy Governor, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, supervised the swearing-in ceremony on behalf of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, who was away in Maiduguri, Borno State, to be part of the party to receive President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was on an official visit to the state.
Prof. Farauta, who presented Fintiri’s speech, said the development areas were meant to extend governance to all parts of the state, particularly the most rural parts.
He said: “This appointment is part of our deliberate determination to stimulate good governance and deliver the much-desired dividends of democracy to our people at the grassroots level. With this swearing-in, you have, in your own little ways, joined the Fresh Air Team (Fintiri Government). In this team, there is no room for laxity.”
He said every member is on a rat race to deliver on the government’s collective vision where no one is left behind and nothing is left untouched, urging the administrators to stimulate development in their respective areas.
Musa Dauda, the administrator of Maiha Development Area, speaking for others, thanked the state government for finding them worthy of their new offices.
