The absence of five loyalists of Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State charged with terrorism offences at the Federal High Court in Abuja has stalled ruling in their respective bail applications.

None of the five defendants, Chime Eguma Ezebalike, Prince Lukman Oladele, Kenneth Goodluck Kpasa, Osiga Donald and Ochueja Thankgod, was in court on Monday when the case against them was called.

No counsel appeared on their behalf to offer explanations to Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon on why they were not before the court.

The Judge, who was taken aback by the development, stood down the ruling delivery till the defendants would be brought before the court by officials of Kuje Prison in Abuja.

Olajuwon had lastFriday fixed today to give court decision on whether to admit them to bail or not.

At the time of this report, the court is still awaiting the arrival of the defendants.

The Judge had fixed today after taking arguments from lawyers from the police, led by Simon Lough, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, and Lukman Fagbemi SAN, who stood for the 1st and 2nd defendants in the matter among others.

Justice Olajuwon had ordered that the five defendants be returned to Kuje Prison in Abuja pending the decision of the Court to grant them bail or not.
