A former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has said a religious extremist with a fanatical political agenda should have no place in the seat of power.
The chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stated this in a tweet via his verified Twitter handle on Tuesday.
Sani said appointing such a person into the cabinet is a recipe for violence, adding that one of the unconfirmed ministerial nominee was intoxicated with power and arrogantly played God while in power.
He wrote: โThe Unconfirmed Ministerial nominee; The one who was intoxicated with power, and who arrogantly played God is now at the mercy of those wielding power. A religious extremist with a fanatical political agenda should have no place in the seat of power if that nation desires peace.โ
Meanwhile, the former lawmaker has claimed that the ex-governors nominated for ministerial appointments by President Bola Tinubu represent his liabilities.
OsunDailyNG recalls that the ministerial list sent to the Senate for screening and confirmation contains nine former governors, a development that has attracted mixed reactions from Nigerians.
The ex-governors include Nyesom Wike, Nasir El-Rufai, Dave Umahi, and Bello Matawalle, among others.
Speaking via a Twitter post on Monday, Sani opined that the technocrats on the ministerial list represent Tinubuโs assets while the former governors represent his liabilities.
