Newcastle United have completed the signing of English defender Tino Livramento from Southampton for a transfer fee worth £40 million.
Tino Livramento has consented to a five-year deal as Newcastle United are expected to pay the Championship side an initial £32 million.
The 20-year-old Englishman is the third player Newcastle United have signed so far this summer. The youngster moved from Chelsea to Southampton for £5 million in 2021.
Due to an anterior cruciate ligament tear, he suffered in April 2022, Livramento only played twice for Southampton last season.
He came in as a substitute in their final two Premier League games against Brighton and Liverpool before the team was relegated.
Livramento played in 32 games in the 2021–2022 season, including 28 in the Premier League.
So far this summer, Newscaster United who will commence their 2023-2024 Premier League campaign against Aston Villa on Saturday, have signed English winger Harvey Barnes and Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali, before adding Tino Livramento to their roster.
After completing his move from the Championship side to the Champions League club, Tino Livramento said, “The way the manager plays football is really attractive and I feel like it suits me as a player.
“With how well the team did last season, the trajectory that we’re on now, I’m just looking forward to being a part of that.
“To be able to learn from Kieran Trippier is another big thing for me. Hopefully, he teaches me how to become a better player and a better full-back.”
