The discussion around the safety of elevator rides in the country has, for some time and particularly in the recent past, raised concerns.
OsunDailyNG reports the fresh incident of an elevator accident that led to the death of one medical doctor, Vwaere Diaso, at the General Hospital, Odan, Lagos State, on Tuesday has created more fear and panic among users.
Earlier, this platform learned that a Nigerian doctor with less than two weeks to complete her horsemanship died in an elevator accident.
It was gathered that the tragic incident involving the young medical doctor occurred at General Hospital Odan in Lagos Island.
In the series of social media posts by friends of the deceased, Vwaereโs elevator was said to have fallen from the 10th floor to the ground floor while she was going to pick up something from a dispatch rider outside.
It was also alleged that it took the hospital one hour before the victimโs body was evacuated and rushed to the emergency before she died.
A staff who also tweeted about the incident said the elevator was known to have had issues, and the team had made complaints about it.
