Brazilian defender Alex Telles has completed his permanent move from Manchester United to Al-Nassr earlier today, July 23, 2023.
His decision to move to the Saudi Pro League club this summer means that the Brazilian defender would reunite with Manchester United icon, Cristiano Ronaldo at the Saudi club.
Recall that Ronaldo and Alex Telles played together at Manchester United for over a season before United terminated the Portuguese contract on mutual grounds last summer and then joined Al Nassr in January.
The contract details of the 30-year-old Brazilian defender have not been made public by both United and the Saudi club.
Alex Telles joined United from Porto for ยฃ13.6 million in 2020 and played left flank in 50 appearances, but he was on loan at Sevilla last season.
Teams in the Saudi Pro League made headlines this summer when players like Ronaldo and France striker Karim Benzema moved to the Middle East country.
Telles is the newest Premier League player to move to the fast-growing league, joining players like Roberto Firmino of Liverpool and NโGolo Kante of Chelsea.
The Brazilian, who has 12 national team games under his belt and had two World Cup appearances in 2022, competed against Englandโs Luke Shaw at Old Trafford for the left-back spot.
He came to Sevilla on loan last season after struggling to make it into Unitedโs first team. He made 38 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish team and started in the teamโs win over Roma on penalties in the Europa League final.
