Vice President, Kashim Shettima is currently in talks with a delegation from the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The chairman of the NESG Board of Directors, Olaniyi Yusuf, spearheaded the delegation to the meeting which kicked off at 11:30 a.m.
One of the main goals of the courtesy visit is to inform the Vice President about the upcoming 29th Nigerian Economic Summit scheduled for October 23-24, 2023, and to extend an invitation for him to deliver the summitโs closing address.
In todayโs discussion, they will explore potential areas of collaboration between the NESG and both the Office of the Vice President and the National Economic Council.
These collaborations will centre around strategic presidential priorities and initiatives.
The NESG was established in 1996 by a group of private sector leaders. It has co-hosted three consecutive Nigerian Economic Summits with the Federal Government.
Notable individuals at the meeting include the NESGโs Chief Executive Officer, โLaoye Jaiyeola, Chief Operating Officer, Dr Tayo Aduloju, and former board chairman, Kyari Bukar. Lumun Feese, Gloria Ekpo, Seun Ojo, Nsikan Essien, Aderigbigbe Sherriff, and Ife Falope are also in attendance.
