A private security guard, Olakunle Ewuoso, expressed that he is living in fear following a clash with an operative from the State Security in Osun state, known as Sola.
The trouble started over an argument about a parked motorcycle on a feeder road near a restaurant in the Ogo-Oluwa area of Osogbo, where 27-year-old Ewuoso works.
Ewuoso told a cyclist, who was ferrying Sola for shopping, to move his motorcycle off the road.
After the cyclist refused, a fight broke out and the DSS operative and the cyclist were caught on video assaulting the guard.
Residents and shop owners struggled to rescue Ewuoso.
Reports indicate that after the altercation, Ewuoso and his boss were summoned to the DSS command where Ewuoso was allegedly beaten as punishment for standing up to one of their personnel.
The guard was then told to report back to the command on Thursday for resolution.
Vanguard noted that Ewuoso who spoke from his hospital bed claimed he was struck with a cutlass and hit on the knees with the wooden handle of an axe by operatives who threatened to ruin his career.
The guardsman said he was warned not to speak to anyone about the incident, under the threat of further violence.
In his own words, Ewuoso stated, “They said they will render me useless and I will not be employable again. My life is under threat as they threatened to kill me if I make any report to anybody. I am living in fear, please help me.”
