The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has lashed at the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the fake sympathy for workers in the state, noting that the main opposition’s party record on civil servants management was replete with disaster.
The Osun PDP in a statement signed by the State Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, said the Governor Ademola Adeleke administration has demonstrated commitment to improving the situation of workers in the state, stressing that no amount of gimmick by the APC can wash away the monumental pains it wrought on civil servants.
Hon. Bisi urged the APC to cover its face in shame and watch Governor Adeleke clear the mess created by its ineffective years in government, maintaining that the PDP-led government will continue to pursue initiatives that will improve efficiency and accountability in the public service.
“The statement by the APC in Osun was the latest in the party’s deceptive plot to hoodwink workers into believing it actually cares for them. But the truth, which is well inherent in its record, is that historically, APC has never served the wellbeing of the civil servants, as the history of pains and anguish it had caused them over the years can never be forgotten,” the statement noted.
“For the umpteenth time, the APC must stop pretending to be what it is not, because it can only deceive itself, not the ever intelligently vigilant workers in Osun, who have suffered a series of inhuman treatment in its hand over the years.
“Osun people, and indeed, workers can tell of the genuine efforts that Governor Adeleke administration has put in place to improve the state’s workforce service delivery which the ongoing audit will also compliment.
The APC cannot latch onto a minor disagreement with the consultant, which has since been addressed, as a platform to launch itself back to reckoning of the people.
“That the workers are even at liberty to air their voice on grounds of little disagreement with the consultant handling government staff audit exercise, is a beautiful departure from the reprehensible laxity in human capital management of the past administration, which coerced the labour force into submissive silence in the midst of anguish”
The PDP government of Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke will continue to accord the state workforce the required respect, to enhance their confidence and human dignity in service to our dear state” the statement concluded.
