The new pro-Western government in Bulgaria is to provide Ukraine with further military aid to defend itself against Russia.
According to the government press office on Monday, the cabinet of Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov approved a new โmilitary and military technologyโ aid package for Ukraine last Friday.
No details were given.ย
It was only said that the package would be similar in size to Bulgariaโs first aid package for Kyiv from the end of 2022.
There had also been no details about that at the time.
The former Eastern bloc country, a NATO member since 2004, still has Soviet-designed armaments.
A dispute over support for Ukraine has already flared up between the government in office since June 6 and President Rumen Radev, considered friendly to Russia.
Mr Radev warned that Bulgaria would join the EU initiative to supply ammunition, which he opposes.
Defence Minister Todor Tagarev had announced greater Bulgarian support for the EUโs efforts to supply the ammunition Ukraine needs.ย
