Reverend Father Paul Obayi, the spiritual director of Okunerere Adoration Ministry, Nsukka, has cautioned youth to shun demonic means of getting wealth and draw nearer to God in order to escape untimely death.
Mr Obayi, a Catholic priest, gave the advice at a prayer session organised by the Nsukka Youths Association (NYA) in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, to seek Godโs intervention to stop incessant untimely deaths among youths in the area.
โThe only way for youths to be safe from untimely death is for them to surrender their life to God, because He is the only one that can protect and give long life,โ Mr Obayi, a deliverance minister, admonished.
โItโs unfortunate that many youths have abandoned God and submitted themselves to demonic altars for protection and get questionable wealth without knowing that those powers are fake, temporary and have grave consequences.โ
He stressed, โAs a youth, if you want to live long, draw yourself closer to God and be prayerful because this world is full of evil.โ
The cleric urges youths to always respect and honour God in all they do.
โItโs more profitable and safer to put your life in the hands of God Almighty than to depend your life on diabolic charms, evil altars, cults and evil people,โ he said.
The priest commended the leadership of NYA, for seeking the face of God to put an end to untimely deaths among youths in the area.
โI commend NYA for knowing that the real power to life as well as long life belongs to God.
โYou will have worsened the situation if you have decided to go from one native doctor to another to look for a solution,โ he said.
Earlier in his remarks, Onyekachi Omeje, the president of NYA, said that the youth group decided to organise the prayer session to seek Godโs intervention in order to stop the incessant untimely death of youths from the area.
โThis prayer session is to seek Godโs intervention, ask for forgiveness so that God who is the Alpha and Omega will put an end to these untimely deaths among Nsukka youths that had put many families in grief and sorrow.
Mr Omeje said no fewer than four youths from the area have died untimely since the beginning of this year.
