Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on Saturday, met with the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just concluded election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, at the burial of Governor Seriake Dicksonโs mother in Bayelsa State.
Makinde, who was in Bayelsa to commiserate with his Bayelsa colleague over the death of his mother, was spotted sitting right next to Atiku during the event.
The Oyo governor is a member of the G-5 Governors who worked against thethe ambition of Atiku in the just concluded presidential election.
Makinde and the rest of the G-5 Governors had demanded a power shift to the South, a demand which seems to have fallen on deaf ears, as it was met with stiff resistance by Atiku and the leadership of the opposition PDP.
Also present at the burial ceremony were Vice President Yemi Osinbjo, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom, and embattled PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, among others.
