An Aero Contractors aircraft bound for Port Harcourt on Wednesday made return to Abuja for an emergency landing after developing fault mid-air.
It was gathered that panic escalated among passengers when the pilot announced there was a problem with one of the planes engines.
Speaking to Leadership, a passenger on the plane disclosed that theย aircraft took off at about 8:40am but few minutes into the flight, the pilot announced he had to return back to Abuja.
According to the passenger,ย those on board did not understand the severity of the technical issues the plane had until it was almost impossible for the pilot to land safely in Abuja.
โWe later realised that the engine had serious issues like hydraulic leakage or something like that. It was terrifying. Many people on board started crying and saying their last prayers. But we managed to land back in Abuja despite the difficulty encountered,โ the passenger narrated.
Meanwhile, anti-Tinubu passenger who boarded an Abuja-Lagos flight, Obiajulu Uja, has been arraigned before the Zuba Magistratesโ Court in Abuja and remanded in prison custody.
OsunDaily News learnt that Uja was charged with public nuisance, resistance to a lawful arrest, threatening violence, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace contrary to sections 396, 267,188,172, and 144 of the Penal Code Law.
Recall that some security agents, last week Friday evening, forcefully removed Uja from an Ibom Air flight over unruly behavior before the take-off.
The man reportedly shouted inside the airplane that on no account should the President-elect, Bola Tinubu be sworn in as Nigerian leader.
His strange behavior attracted the attention of other passengers and flight attendants who called in some security personnel and forcibly removed him from the plane.
His lawyer, Ejike Ugwu, in an interview with PUNCH said Uja was hurriedly charged to court after he was admitted to the Muhammadu Buhari Police Hospital, sadly, the hospital did not have a psychiatrist doctor, and psychologist to examine him.
Ugwu, however, said a doctor was invited from National Hospital, Abuja to examine his client but the efforts unfortunately were futile.
