The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, attended the conference of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in Abuja on Wednesday.
OsunDaily News reports that the conference with the theme โNigeria: Adopting Sustainability for Economic Prosperityโ, was also attended by the flagbearer of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore.
Also, present at the conference were the presidential candidates of the Accord Party and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Prof. Christopher Imulomen and Prof. Peter Umeadi, respectively.
However, the presidential candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, were absent at the event.
The Vice Presidential candidate of the PDP, Ifeanyi Okowa represented his principal, while the VP candidate of the NNPP, Bishop Isaac Idahosa, also represented his boss.
As of the time of filing this report, neither Tinubu nor his representative showed up later during the course of the conference.
Labour Party Releases Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Council [Full List]
The Labour Party on Wednesday unveiled its Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2023 Presidential Election.
The party unveiled 1,234 members of its Presidential Campaign Council, with Assistant Inspector General of Police (retd.), Mohammed Zarewa, as chairman.
While the former spokesperson of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Dr Doyin Okupe, was named Director-General of the Labour Party campaign organisation, Clement Ojukwu and Yunusa Tanko were named secretary and spokesperson of the PCC respectively.
