The former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has been criticized for attributing the success of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.
OsunDaily News reports that Fani-Kayode had in a recent article titled โYemi Osinbajo, Bola Tinubu and Queen Elizabethโs Funeralโ, advised Osinbajo to support Tinubu’s presidential ambition due to their relationship.
The APC chieftain had also urged Osinbajo to commit himself to Tinubu’s campaign since the former Governor of Lagos State is his mentor and benefactor.
However, in a statement on Monday, a group of legal practitioners, the Progressive Lawyers for Osinbajo, slammedย Fani-Kayode for crediting Osinbajoโs successes to Tinubu.
It said the vice president came from an enviable pedigree, and his life records are open to the public, stressing that Osinbajo’s success cannot be tied to the APC flagbearer.
The group demanded that Fan-Kayode should apologize to Nigerians for his “crooked manifestation of tomfoolery.”
The statement reads: โAs against the uninformed thought of FFK, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo came from an enviable pedigree, his life records are open to the public; they are not questionable, including having served as Special Adviser to the Attorney-General of the Federation in 1988.
โFani-Kayode is now talking about Absalom, but what about him completely denying and betraying his own faith? Is that not a worse story of Judas?
โWe donโt know which version of FFK to believe or which is real or fake. This is what social duplicity means and the unstable public commentator called Fani-Kayode is the best expression of a political chameleon. We demand he apologises to Nigerians for his crooked manifestation of tomfoolery.
โThis is a trait that FFK has prepared to fail in his assignment as director in the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.
โThat article was in no form a special and well-thought-out project. It is simply to brew intraparty rancour that can destroy the chances of the party in the 2023 presidential election.โ
