Nigerian forward, Paul Onuachu on Saturday stunned Belgian fans by helping his team close the gap with Antwerp in the first place.
In their Belgian Pro League match at the Luminus Arena on Saturday night, Genk defeated Kortrijk 2-1 thanks in large part to the two-time Superliga champion.
The former Midtjylland player scored a brace for Genk after scoring his first goal of the campaign last week against KV Oostende.
In the 37th minute, the Nigerian striker opened the goal-scoring for his club.
Faiz selemani’s goal in the 58th minute of the game gave the Kortrijk team a goal to tie the score in the second half.
But with 11 minutes left, the 27-year-old scored the game-winning goal from the penalty spot.
In the Nigerian International’s eight league appearances for Genk this year, Onuachu has three goals to his credit.
Genk is currently in second place on the log, two points behind the current leader Antwerp.
