Popular Nigerian actress, Patience Ozokwor, also known as Mama G has led some other celebrities as they declared their support for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi.
The entertainers declared their support for the presidential ambition of the former Governor of Anambra State during a meeting tagged 40 Milion Ballots Movement in collaboration with Celebrities for Peter Obi (CEPO).
Some of the celebrities in attendance at the meeting include Alex Usifo, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, Okon Lagos, Paul Obazele, Rita Arum, Klint Da Drunk and others.
Mama G during the meeting disclosed their intention to support Obi in the 2023 general election.
The veteran actress while addressing participants at the meeting in a viral video recalled how former President Goodluck Jonathan aided the growth of the movie industry.
She disclosed that the former president sent some movie practitioners outside the country to improve their skills.
According to Mama G, the action of former President, Jonathan has aided their movie production and better quality.
She further stated that Jonathan while in office did not announce what he was doing for the movie industry, but he was working.
Mama G said some producers, and cameramen were sent to London, America and other places by the Jonathan administration for upgrades.
She added that the presidential candidate of LP, Obi is someone who will lead the entertainment industry to its destination.
The actress noted that she is surprised that the presidential candidate is not a chief or has a title, but just Mister.
Mama G said, โAll of us in the industry, apart from a few, are suddenly behind Peter Obi.โ
Speaking about the presence of Mr Ibu in the meeting Mama G said, โAt a time he was confused. But when his eyes opened, he said, โNo o! I took it the wrong way.
“And then he came back to join the Labour Party.”
This is coming days after Mr Ibu attended a rally of Obi in Jos.
Mr Ibu at a time had endorsed the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, but to the surprise of Nigerians, he switched his support to the camp of Obi.
