The Peoples Democratic Party candidate for Ogun Central Senatorial District, Olumide Aderinokun, has said the only way for Nigeria to overcome its various challenges is to have good leaders elected in the right positions.
Aderinokun opined that the nation has been battling with leaders who keep jeopardizing its future.
He said the time has come for Nigerians to go all out and elect leaders that would put an end to their problems.
In a statement made available to DAILY POST on Saturday, Aderinokun enjoined Nigerians not to lose hope in the country, asking them to be hopeful and maintain the Nigerian spirit.
The Owu Kingdom chief, who reflected on Nigeria’s growth since October 1960, said that “it is not too late for the country to meet development expectations.”
He added: “We have come this far as a people with our Nigerian spirit, having conquered our challenges.
“We have come a long way as a country, with our unity and freedom. Nigeria will always stand strong amid struggles.”
The PDP leader expressed worry over the level of insecurity and the harsh economy in Nigeria, 62 years after independence.
”The reality we are facing presently as a nation is a deficit system where the federal and state governments are borrowing, and our revenue is spent on debt servicing.
“It is even more painful we can’t go to bed with our two eyes closed while our children last attended a university lecture in February.
“However, there is hope, and together we can re-write our country’s story with our votes in the 2023 general elections.
“By this time in 2023, it will be a better and relieving Independence Day celebration in Ogun Central Senatorial District, Ogun State and Nigeria,” he stated.
