The Adamawa State Pilice Command has taken four people into custody for allegedly attacking animals, stealing some of them and killing others.

The four, charged with โ€˜intentional animal abuseโ€™, are said to have perpetrated the acts in Ngbalang and Tigno communities in Numan Local Government Area.

The Adamawa State Police Command, in a statement Wednesday, disclosed that last Wednesday, April 3, its operatives, with the combined efforts of other critical stakeholders, arrested the four individuals for the offences of criminal conspiracy and armed robbery.

The police gave the identities of the suspects as Solomon Musa, aged 26; Auwalu Gambo, aged 22; Nuhu Dauda, aged 53; and Gbamon Wonawo, aged 21; being residents of Sabon Pegi, Ngbalang and Tigno Kogi of Numan and Lamurde local government areas.

According to a statement signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, the suspects separately attacked, killed and rustled the cattle of Alhaji Abdu Bakari, Bello Alhaji Sale, amongst others, โ€œwith the intention of causing wrongful loss to the owners and wrongful gain to themselves.โ€

Vowing that the suspects would be prosecuted, the police stated that โ€œfollowing thorough investigations so far conducted, the suspects volunteered useful information that will aid deligent prosecution.โ€

The statement said the state Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris Falling, had commended the traditional institutions in the affected communities for ensuring that the law takes its course, leading to the arrest of the suspects.
