A former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, has clashed with former Bring Back Our Girls, BBOG, campaigner, Aisha Yesufu, over a popular crossdresser,
Following the ban on movies with contents of cross dressing and thuggery, Yesufu had slammed the Kano State Government, accusing it of hypocrisy.
OsunDailyNG reports that the state government, while announcing the ban on movies that depict crossing-dress, also warned against those that depict thuggery.
The development followed concerns raised by the public about certain films promoting deviant behaviour among youths in the state
However, Aisha Yesufu, while mentioning a popular crossdresser, Bobrisky in her reaction, noted that Kano had been the home of crossdressers even before the likes of Bobrisky were conceived.
โCross dressers were all over Kano before Bobrisky was conceived;โ she wrote on X.
โBobrisky still has things to learn from the original ones in Kano who donโt need surgery to transform.
Yeah letโs continue with the hypocrisy and make it a now thing.โ
Responding to Yesufuโs comments, Ahmad declared full support for the decision of the Kano State Government, saying, โEven if it has been around for thousands of years, why the anger over Kano State Governmentโs efforts to address it now?
โRegardless of who is involved, itโs a bad thing and entirely against our religion and culture.
โWe fully back Gov. Abba K. Yusufโs decision to use his authority to eliminate it for the better.โ
