Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has sworn in 21 local government administrators, charging them to prioritize closer engagement with their constituents.
The new administrators were inaugurated at the Presidential Lodge in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday, following the dissolution of the elected chairmen of the 21 local government areas (LGAs) and their secretaries last month due to the expiration of their tenure.
Governor Idris stated the importance of staying connected with the people and urged the administrators to work diligently to justify the confidence reposed in them.
โI urge you to work hard, do your work diligently to justify the confidence reposed in you.โ He urged.
Idris stated the need for a mix of both experienced and young politicians in the administration and emphasized the importance of grooming the youth for future leadership roles.
He said, โRemember, I promised that my administration would go with both experienced (old) politicians as well as the young (youths), this combination you are seeing today is in fulfilment of my promise.
โI want the old, experienced and seasoned politicians to groom the young ones because they are our future leaders.โ
The Sole Administrator of Birnin Kebbi, Dahiru Nayaya-Ambursa, while responding on behalf of the administrators, pledged continued support for the governorโs administration and assured that they would work tirelessly to bring positive development to their respective LGAs.
According to a statement signed by the spokesman for the governor, Ahmed Idris, and made available to newsmen on Tuesday, the new administrators assured the governor that they would never let him down.
โNayaya-Ambursa said they would do everything possible to bring positive development to their respective local government areas,โ the statement reads in part.
