Amid hardship, Nigerian cinemas generated N1.2 billion in January 2024 alone.
The National President of the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria, CEAN, Opeyemi Ajayi, disclosed this in a recent interview with NAN.
He noted that the N1.2 billion breakthrough was a 46 per cent increase compared to the N819 million recorded in January 2023.
Ajayi said the total viewership during this period marked an attendance of 322,833.
He explained that the rising figure indicates the industryโs ability to adapt and thrive despite challenges and uncertainties.
โFor January 2024, we had total sales of N1,202,195,706 with a total admission of 322,833,โ he said.
The development comes despite the rising economic hardship in Nigeria.
