Former Ghana midfielder, Michael Essien has singled out Ivory Coast forward, Simon Adingra for praise after their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final win over Nigeria.
Recall that Adingra was impressive for Ivory Coast as they defeated the Super Eagles 2-1 in the AFCON final on Sunday night.
Adingra, who won the Best Young Player of the 2023 AFCON, gave the assist for Ivory Coast’s second goal against Nigeria.
William Troost-Ekong’s goal was not enough as Franck Kessie and Sebastien Haller scored for Ivory Coast to ensure they defeated the Super Eagles in the AFCON final.
Reacting, Essien, in a tweet via his X account after the game, wrote: “What a player, Felicitation mon @simon adingra.”
