The Benue State House of Assembly has summoned the Special Advisers to the Governor on Security Matters, the Commanders of Livestock and Volunteer Guards and heads of the state’s security outfits.
The summon followed a motion moved by the member representing Gwer East state Constituency, Elias Audu and seconded by Kennedy Angbo of the Otukpu/Akpa state Constituency.
The motion was also supported by the Chief Whip and member representing Katsina-Ala West state Constituency, Peter Ipusu.
The lawmakers expressed concern over the mindless killings in the state and the accompanying huge influx of Fulani herdsmen into the state with their cattle.
The House also urged Governor Hyacinth Alia to initiate the process of replacing the arrested Caretaker Chairman of Gboko Local Government Area, Mr Tervershima Agber.
Agber was a few weeks back, arrested at the Police Force Headquarters in Abuja for his alleged complicity in the plot to assassinate the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Mr Hyacinth Dajoh.
The House called on the governor to choose a new Gboko Chairman from the same Constituency as the arrested Agber.
