The Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike has admonished the area council chairmen in the nationโs capital city to stay in their domains and develop the communities.
The former Rivers State Governor gave the admonition on Wednesday in Yangoji, when he inaugurated the construction of 11-kilometre rural road expected to connect Sukuku Ebo and Yangoji communities in the Kwali Area Council.
โContinue to stay at home. Donโt come to the city regularly. Stay there and do the work. My own is to support you.
โIf you donโt do well for rural communities, you will create problems for the city,โ he said.
According to the Minister the FCT Administration is ready to work with chairmen of FCT area councils with the aim of driving development in rural areas.
Specifically, Wike promised to complete all abandoned projects in the Abaji and other area councils, stressing that era of abandoned projects was over.
He said: โWe are touching rural areas to renew their hope because they have suffered years of abandonment.
โThis is your time to benefit. If we donโt take care of rural areas, then we have failed as a government.โ
