Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has commended the giant initiative of Zamfara State Government in the establishment of the Community Protection Guards, CPG.
Commandant Sani Mustapha, who witnessed the passing out parade of the first batch of the trained CPG code-named ASKARAWA, said in a statement that the Corps in the State was poised to give maximum support and collaboration to the laudable innovation of the State Government in combating brigandage and other forms of insecurity in the state.
He said the Commandant General, Dr Abubakar Ahmed Audi has given his full support to the establishment of the outfit as exemplified by his representation through the Kano State Commandant, Commandant Lawal Muhammad Falala.
He opined that the NSCDC was ever ready to ensure that the novel innovation of the Zamfara State Government strived.
The Zamfara State NSCDC boss, however called on the trained Guards to be dedicated and God-fearing in the discharge of their duties.
โThe Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Zamfara State Command, was visibly on ground and participated fully in the training of the guards. About 2740 guards were trained in the first batch.
โThe Commandant General, Dr Abubakar Ahmed Audi was ably represented by Commandant Muhammad Lawal Falala, the State Commandant, Kano State Command to witness the passing out parade.
โThe event witnessed the display of paramilitary activities and the unveiling of Hilux Van and motorcycles donated by the State Government to enhance the smooth take-off of the CPG,โ he said.
