Former Nigeria international, Nwankwo Kanu has reacted to Super Eagles’ 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, Round of 16 victory over Cameroon on Saturday night.
OsunDailyNG reports that two goals from Ademola Lookman gave Nigeria the win over the Indomitable Lions in Ivory Coast.
Victor Osimhen and Calvin Bassey gave the assists during the encounter.
Reacting, Kanu, in a post via his X account, congratulated Jose Peseiro’s side and hailed their combined effort against Cameroon.
The Arsenal legend wrote: “KAN U BELIEVE IT YESSSSSSSS KANU BELIEVE IT Super Eagles Nigeria are on their way to the quarterfinals #AFCON2023. Combined effort everyone @ng_supereagles, More goals ahead congratulations.”
On his part, Nigeria attacker, Victor Boniface, who withdrew from the Super Eagles squad at AFCON due to injury, wrote: “Respect brother @victorosimhen9.”
Similarly, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso,
the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, tweeted: “Fantastic performance, Super Eagles. Let’s go and show Angola the difference. – RMK.”
Also, Senator Shehu Sani, a former federal lawmaker, wrote: “Congratulations to the Super Eagles.”
Nigeria will now face Angola in the AFCON last-eight.
