Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer, LBGTQ, people have been warned to stay off Nigeria.
The warning was handed out by the spokesperson of the Nigerian Police Force, Muyiwa Adejobi, who disclosed that the police would be going after such people.
He said LBGTQ members seen in the trending โOf Courseโ challenge, would not find Nigeria a comfort zone, describing them as โcriminals.โ
There are trending videos showing alleged members of the LBGTQ describing who they are and what people think of them.
Quoting the video and tagging the Force Public Relations Officer, an X user identified as #iamking_yusuf wrote: โUna no update us say LGBTQ is now legal in Naija ๐ณ๐ฌ o. Buh no shaking, all of us go well last last.โ
Replying to the message, Adejobi wrote: โThey are criminals and punishable under the law.
โWe are on this clip to take necessary action according to the provisions of the law in Nigeria. These are unnatural offences and are totally condemned. Thanks.โ
