The Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, is of the view that every sector of the country, including education, must move on the same pace to achieve the current administrationโs Renewed Hope Agenda.
She made the point during a close-door meeting with the leadership of the Academy Staff Union of University, ASUU, in Abuja.
A statement from the ministry indicated that the engagement is part of effort to avert industrial disputes in the academic cycles and forge a way forward to smooth academic session in Nigeria in 2024 and beyond.
While craving the indulgence of the leadership of the Union led by its President, Comrade Emmanuel Osodeke, to allow the ministry to know all the problems of the union, the Minister extended an open invitation for dialogue and complete transparency.
Emphasising the critical role of education in the nationโs future, Onyejeocha said President Bola Tinubuโs administration is prioritising education as key pillar of development.
She pointed to the recent โstudentsโ loan approvalโ as a stepping stone.
