Governor Uba Sani has sympathised with the people of Tudun Biri, the community mistakenly bombed via drone by the military while hunting down bandits at night in the area.
Governor Sani said government officials were dispatched to Tudun Biri village to assess the situation and evacuate the injured to Barau Dikko Hospital, Kaduna for prompt medical attention as soon as the tragic event came to light.
The governor, who received Vice President Kashim Shettima and his delegation, consisting of the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru and the National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje on Thursday, expressed gratitude to the VP over the offer of assistance to the affected community.
The Governor said, “Today, I had the privilege of receiving in audience the Vice President, His Excellency, Kashim Shettima, GCON, who led a high-powered Federal Government delegation to Sir Kashim Ibrahim House to condole the government and people of Kaduna State over the loss of lives in Tudun Biri village due to the unfortunate military drone attack.”
He added that the VP has given assurance that the Federal Government ordered a full investigation into the tragic incident and a report is being expected soon.
The Governor thanked Mr President for sending a high-powered delegation to condole the government and people of the state, and for picking Tudun Biri village as the first beneficiary of the PULAKU Initiative for Internally Displaced Persons and also thanked Mr President for promptly responding to the call for a full investigation into the unfortunate incident and compensation for families of the victims.
