Mr Adewale Adeniyi, Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), believes it is critical to tap into the richness of knowledge of former management officials of the service.
Adeniyi stated on Saturday in Abuja during the first reunion of retired NCS management officials that such a step was important for improved service delivery.
According to him, the reunion was inspired by the recognition of the retired officersโ enormous amount of experience, expertise, and dedication throughout their outstanding service in the NCS.
He stated that it was critical to recognize and close some existing gaps that may have hampered the efficient use of such important resources in the past.
โLearning from successful instances in other organizations, we must recognize the following gaps and strive to overcome them:
โLack of structured programmes within the NCS designed specifically to engage retired officers.
โThe NCS may benefit from creating tailored programmes to facilitate seamless collaboration.โ
