The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to facilitate reforms to enable the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, to provide effective service to Nigerians.
Minister of State for Police Affairs, Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, stated this during a courtesy visit by Nasarawa State governor, Engineer. Abdullahi Sule, to the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.
Sulaiman-Ibrahim, according to a statement issued by the Deputy Director, Press, Bolaji Kazeem, disclosed that President Bola Tinubu has entrusted the Ministry with a critical mandate to facilitate police reforms to engender effective policing in the country.
She said: “Nothing happens until the Nigeria Police Force works effectively. We aligned with Mr President’s mantra of ‘we are open for business’ and drive to attract both local and foreign investors.
“This required police reforms that would protect the lives and property of everyone in the country.
“I can assure you of the commitment of the Ministry to ensure reforms of the police in this present administration.”
The Minister noted that the visit by Governor Sule was symbolic and encouraging, noting that with the cooperation and support of the stakeholders, the Ministry would achieve its mandate.
