The President of the Ninth Senate, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan has congratulated the incumbent Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, on his re-election for another term of four years.

He also congratulated the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Kogi State, Ahmed Usman-Ododo, over the partyโ€™s victory in the governorship election held over the weekend.

The former Senate President, in a statement released on Monday by his media aide, Ezrel Tabiowo, attributed the victory of the duo to the dedication, commitment and passion of both candidates and their supporters in the APC.

He described Uzodinma and Usman-Ododoโ€™s victory as a testament to the strength of the nationโ€™s democracy and the power of the people to make their voices heard.

Lawan in the statement said, โ€œI am thrilled to learn of the victory of Governor Hope Uzodinma and Ahmed Usman-Ododo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Imo and Kogi Governorship elections.

โ€œThe people of Imo and Kogi have spoken and have entrusted the leadership of their states to the APC, and we are honoured to have their support.

โ€œI congratulate both candidates and commend the hard work and dedication of their teams and the party members who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of APC.

โ€œTheir commitment and passion have been instrumental in our victory, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to them.

โ€œI also appreciate the voters who came out in large numbers to participate in the electoral process. Your active participation is a testament to the strength of our democracy and the power of the people to make their voices heard.

โ€œAs we celebrate this victory, let us reaffirm our commitment to good governance, transparency, and inclusive development in Imo and Kogi states, respectively.

โ€œOur party will work tirelessly to fulfil our promises to the people and to move our states forward on the path of progress and prosperity.

โ€œThe APC is determined to deliver on its mandate and to build a better future for all residents of Imo and Kogi. Once again, I thank the people of Imo and Kogi for their trust and confidence in the APC.โ€
