The Bauchi State Police Commandโs Rapid Response Squad (RRS) has apprehended a suspected motorcycle theft specialist in Bauchiโs metropolis.
According to the statement released by the State Police Commandโs spokesperson, Ahmed Wakil, the suspect, Ahmed Zakari, also known as โDeedatโ, was apprehended at Muda Lawal market based on credible information about his criminal activities.
During questioning, the suspect was said to have revealed the involvement of his accomplice, Usman Saadu, aka โDan Boskaโ, who is currently on the run.
The suspect explained that while they were en route to Kandahar, they spotted a new Haojoue motorcycle parked at a houseโs entrance.
They approached the motorcycle and tampered with its ignition using a sharp metal tool specially crafted for such purposes.
He was said to have admitted to disassembling the stolen motorcycle, painting its parts a different color.
In another incident, RRS operatives arrested Sanusi Abubakar, a 20-year-old metal scrap buyer from Tsamiyar Gardawa area, known as โDan gwan-gwanโ.
His arrest was prompted by intelligence reports of his involvement in purchasing stolen goods.
During interrogation, he was said to have confessed to receiving stolen items multiple times, leading to his eventual arrest.
He was found in possession of three stolen motorcycles at the time of his arrest.
