The Jigawa State Police Command has smashed a syndicate of suspected armed robbers, arresting three in Dutse.
Spokesman of the command DSP Shiisu Lawan Adam disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen.
According to him, the incident occurred last week when police received a distress call that five armed criminals stormed a residence at G9 quarters, Dutse LGA.
He said according to reports, the perpetrators brutally assaulted the victim before making off with several valuable possessions, including a black Honda Accord 2011 model, two plasma televisions, an HP laptop computer, and a Redmi Note 11pro phone.
He said the victim was immediately rushed to General Hospital Dutse for medical treatment, while the case was subsequently transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Dutse for discreet investigation.
Adam explained that efforts by the investigative team led to the arrest of three suspects: Umar Abubakar, aged 28, from Bompai Miller Road in Kano State; Yakubu Mohammed, aged 24; and Zakariyya Dahiru, aged 28, both from Yalleman town, Kaugama LGA.
He said the suspects confessed to forcibly entering the victimโs residence, assaulting him, and stealing his motor vehicle and other belongings.
They also named Umar Abubakar, alias Messi, and Hassan Kura as their accomplices who are at large.
He noted that the command remains committed to apprehending the remaining fleeing suspects.
He said the arrested individuals will undergo a discreet investigation at SCID Dutse and will be arraigned in court to face appropriate legal action after the investigation.
The Command, however, urged the public to continue providing relevant information that may aid ongoing efforts to maintain law and order in the state.
