South Africa President Cyril Ramaphosa, has shown his support for Palestine in the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, an Islamic Resistance Movement.
He also offered his condolences to the people of Israel and Palestine.
Ramaphosa is the latest prominent politician to have shown support for Palestinians in the wake of the conflict in the region, following the attacks by the terror group, Hamas, in Israel last weekend.
DAILY POST reports the conflict between Israel and Hamas has escalated, resulting in total military warfare in the Gaza Strip since the past seven days.
According to a report from humanitarian bodies, the war had already claimed over 2,300 lives on both sides.
Reacting to the development, Ramaphosa, in a video post via his official X account on Saturday, titled: โWe pledge solidarity with the people of Palestine,โ said: โAs you can see, this is the national executive committee. All of us standing here pledging our solidarity to the people of Palestine. We stand here because we are deeply concerned about the atrocities that are unfolding in the Middle East.
โWe offered our condolences to the people of Israel as we are passing our condolences to the people of Palestine. And as the African national congress we have also pledged our solidarity with them [Palestine] and we have always insisted that the only solution in the Middle East, particularly between Israel and Palestine is a two state solution.โ
