Former Liverpool star, Steve Nicol, has urged Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to drop Arsenal attacker Reiss Nelson against Manchester City when both teams clash in Sunday’s Premier League tie.
Nicol believes Nelson is not ready to feature for Arsenal against a big team like Man City.
“Personally, I would put Jesus on that right-hand side. He’s played there before, he played there for [Manchester] City. I would start with Trossard, Nketiah and Jesus on the right,” Nicol said on ESPN (via TBR).
“There’s talk of Reiss Nelson starting, I don’t think so.
“He’s not ready for the size of this game, with those three up front that’s as strong as Arteta can make it.”
Meanwhile, Nelson is an option to feature for the Gunners against Pep Guardiola’s side if Bukayo Saka is unable to play the Premier League clash.
Saka is a doubt for today’s Premier League clash against Manchester City at Emirates.
The 22-year-old England international was forced off in the first half of Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat to Lens in the Champions League earlier this month.
