Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has called on residents of the state and Nigerians in general to remain united as the the nation continues to strive towards the path of growth and development.
The governor made this call during the 63rd Independence Anniversary celebration which took place at the Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium in Minna
Represented at the event by his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba, the governor called on Nigerians to always imbibe the spirit of oneness as a vital tool for peace and development.
He said, โIt is only through peaceful living that Nigerians will be able to prosper and meet the yearnings and aspirations of the Nation in general.โ
Bago also called on Nigerians to contribute their quota to nation-building, adding that his administration is well aware of the situation of its citizens and is working round the clock to ensure that things get better.
He added, โWe are appealing to Nigerlites not to lose hope in the present Government but should be resilient and remain prayerful for the success of the present administration.โ
Also, the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Usman, and the Speaker, Niger State House of Assembly Abdulmalik Muhammad, in their various remarks admitted that despite the challenges facing the nation, the country has recorded some tremendous successes over the years.
They also urged people of the state to remain hopeful as the government is working tirelessly to provide dividends of democracy.
