29, 843 Adamawa indigenes undergoing screening for Police jobs

A total of 29, 843 applicants of Adamawa State origin are currently undergoing screening for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force.

The Adamawa State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, who disclosed this to newsmen in Yola on Friday, said the number represented applicants shortlisted for the screening.

He added that of the number, about 4,000 had so far been screened.

He explained that the screening is scheduled to end later this month, on January 29.

OsunDailyNG reports that the candidates are being considered for recruitment as police constables.

Adamawa has been rated highly among states around the country regarding turnout for calls by the police authorities for the ongoing recruitment exercise.

The Head of Press and Public Relations of the Police Service Commission, PSC, Ikechukwu Ani, disclosed on November 19, 2023, that Kaduna and Adamawa states had the highest number of applicants for consideration as constables.

He said in a statement that Kaduna had the highest number of applicants with 40,272, followed by Adamawa with 36,398.

According to him, Borno was third with 32,048, followed by Benue with 31,122, Katsina with 30,202, and Bauchi and Kano with 30,604 and 30,004, respectively. Anambra posted the lowest number with 1,664, with Ebonyi and Lagos, respectively, having 2,132 and 2,324 applicants.
