The Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, has claimed that the workout video of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, was being circulated without his consent.
Naija News had reported that Tinubu in the video released via his Twitter handle on Sunday, denied reports that he has withdrawn from the 203 presidential race.
In a statement released alongside the video, Tinubu stated that he is strong, healthy and ready to serve Nigerians from day one in office.
“Many have said I have died; others claim I have withdrawn from the presidential campaign.
“Well… Nope. This is the reality: I am strong, I am healthy and I am READY to serve Nigerians from Day One,” he had said.
But speaking on Monday during a guest appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily programme, Umahi said the APC presidential candidate’s video shouldn’t attract unnecessary attention.
The Ebonyi governor added that Tinubu is fit to lead the country in 2023, asking Nigerians to disregard rumours of his ill health.
Umahi said many Nigerians questioning his state of mind for the nation’s top job are being petty.
He said: “Nobody is totally well and nobody is totally sick. That is one point. Another point is that Nigerians are so petty. A man that is doing his workout is being videoed and circulated on social media without his knowledge.
“I don’t think we should concentrate on intangibles because life is like a bus and you don’t know where the next bus stop is. Some of the people talking about the health of leaders of this country do not even know where their own bus stop is coming from. Every life and death rests in the hands of God.”
2023: APC Campaign Council Fixes Date To Hold Inaugural Meeting
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council has fixed a date for its inaugural meeting.
Naija News gathered that the inaugural meeting would take place on Tuesday, October 4 at the PPC Headquarters in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
A source told This Day that the meeting would involve all Directors and PCC leaders in all the states of the Federation.
Recall that the ruling party had on September 28 scheduled a peace walk and prayers to officially kick off campaigns for the 2023 presidential election, but was suspended indefinitely.
Thereafter, the ruling party released the list of the 422-member campaign council, which caused a disagreement between members of the National Working Committee (NWC) and Tinubu.
