The All Progressives Congress (APC) is yet to settle issues on the composition of its Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) ahead of the 2023 general elections.
In the last few weeks, some Governors elected on the platform of the APC and members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party have expressed their grievances on the list.
The development has seen the ruling party indefinitely suspend the inauguration of its presidential campaign council.
Despite the return of the Presidential candidate of the party, Bola Tinubu, to the country the party is yet to resolve a date to commence its presidential campaign.
The National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Adamu condemned the PCC for ignoring members of the NWC.
There are indications that some party leaders might still be dwelling on the statement of Tinubu in the buildup of their presidential primary.
Recall that Tinubu ahead of the party presidential primary had made a statement on how President Muhammadu Buhari struggled to win elections until he (Tinubu) supported him before his eventual victory in 2015.
The statement of the APC National Leader while addressing party faithfuls in Abeokuta, Ogun State, did not sit well with some APC Governors and party stakeholders.
The Chairman of the party, Adamu, who supported the presidential ambition of Ahmad Lawan in the presidential primary of the ruling party, had condemned Tinubu over his statement.
Recall that Adamu declared the Senate President as the adopted presidential aspirant of the party.
Tinubu, however, defeated Adamu in the primary of the APC after some presidential aspirants stepped down for him.
Months after the primary some presidential aspirants are still aggrieved over their lack of inclusion in the PCC.
While some have allegedly threatened not to work for the presidential ambition of Tinubu due to their grievances and the controversial Muslim/Muslim ticket of the party.
Could it be that some party leaders are determined to ensure that the former Governor of Lagos State experiences President Buhari’s triple falls?
However, Tinubu has started taking steps to douse the tension in the ruling party ahead of the 2023 races.
OsunDaily News had earlier reported that Tinubu upon his return is set to meet with aggrieved governors and members of the National Working Committee (NWC) over the earlier released 422-member campaign council.
