10 Times Tunde Ayeni legally, publicly denounced Adaobi Alagwu [DETAILS]

A user on X (formerly called Twitter) once described Nigerian businessman Tunde Ayeni as “the face of Nigerian married men pressing the necks of greedy sidechicks,” and it’s certainly not far from the truth. The length to which he’s gone to publicly denounce and humiliate a certain Adaobi Alagwu knows no bounds.

The paternity drama between Ayeni and former beauty queen cum lawyer, Adaobi Alagwu, has flooded the media space for the past two years, and just when you think it’s settled, something new pops up.

Through it all, Ayeni has repeatedly and officially denied Adaobi’s paternity claims through media statements, DNA challenges, court petitions, affidavits, legal letters, and a final court ruling.

This article takes a deep dive into all the times Tunde Ayeni has denied Adaobi:

1. August 2023: Setting The Record Straight

In August 2023, Tunde Ayeni released an official statement titled “Setting The Record Straight.” This statement was published as a full-page article in several Nigerian national dailies where he categorically said, “I wish to affirm that I am a father to three wonderful children with my delectable wife, Abiola. These are the legitimate scions of the Ayeni dynasty. I do not have any child elsewhere.”

2. August 2023: Biola Ayeni ‘Tell All’ Interview

In August 2023, Tunde Ayeni’s wife of over three decades, Dr. Biola Ayeni, granted an exclusive ‘Tell All’ interview to ThisDay Newspapers titled “The Greatest Sacrifice I Have Made.” In the interview, she defended her husband and described Adaobi as nothing but a desperate “gold digger.”

In her words: “As per your question on how I reacted to the news of her claim, truth be told, the first thing I did when I heard the news was to check with God if truly He would fold His arms and let anyone destroy a home He used His hands to build and guard jealously for 31 years, and He told me that her claim is untrue and I should disregard it. In the end, the truth will prevail. The young lady knows the father of her child. And when I checked with my husband, he told me the child is not his! God has spoken and my husband has also spoken; nothing else matters. So, I am not moved by naysayers or rumours about her claims. She knows the father of her child; she’s just a gold digger.”

3. February 2024: Letter to Nigerian Immigration Service

In February 2024, Tunde Ayeni, through his lawyers Dele Adesina LP, wrote a letter to the Nigerian Immigration Service titled: WITHDRAWAL OF CONSENT FOR USE OF THE FAMILY NAME ‘AYENI’ WITH RESPECT TO YOUR DAUGHTER OMAROSA, where it was established that Alagwu’s daughter isn’t entitled to use the Ayeni name on her travel document, as he has no familial relationship with her.

4. February 2024: The Cease and Desist Letter

Ayeni and his legal team didn’t stop at the letter to the Nigerian Immigration Service; they followed up with a ‘Cease and Desist’ letter to Adaobi Alagwu herself after she was officially evicted from an office building that belonged to Ayeni. The letter partly reads:

“We would like to refer to an incident that took place sometime in the month of January this year at 36 Birao Street where you illegally entered into one of our properties formerly occupied by you, of which you had surrendered possession over six months prior. Your reasons for the unauthorized entry were not acceptable to our clients, which necessitated the report of the incident which they authorized to be made at the Wuse 2 Police Station, Abuja.”

5. May 2024: Royal Family Disowns Adaobi Alagwu

In May 2024, with a move that seemingly solidified Tunde Ayeni’s disassociation from Adaobi, the King of Ijumu Land, Oba Olusegun Williams Ayeni, personally issued a disclaimer on behalf of the Ayeni Obaniwa family.
The royal family’s declaration, which condemned any association between Tunde Ayeni and Adaobi, emphasized their commitment to preserving the family’s dignity. The disclaimer unequivocally stated that no member of the Ayeni family would ever communicate with Adaobi or her family, now or in the future.

The declaration partly reads:

“We also want to state here clearly that none of our family members is in any form of communication with the said Adaobi Alagwu or her family, and we will never put ourselves in a position to compromise our stand and decision now or in the future.”

6. September 2024: Tunde Ayeni Swears an Affidavit

Relentless in his efforts to prove his innocence, Ayeni swore an affidavit before an Abuja High Court on the 12th of September 2024, where he laid out the facts stating:

That I am legally married to Mrs. Abiola Ayeni and no other person.

That I have not contracted any other legal or customary marriage to Ms. Adaobi Jennifer Alagwu or any other person for that matter.

That Ms. Adaobi Jennifer Alagwu manipulated me into believing that I was the biological father of her born daughter named Omarosa Abimbola Ayeni.

7. February 2025: Court Petition at Dawaki Customary Court

Ayeni initiated legal proceedings (Suit FCT/CC/CV/DKDK), seeking official court confirmation that Adaobi was never his wife and Omarosa is not his child. He produced his legal marriage certificate to his wife of over three decades, Dr. Biola Ayeni, underscoring his marital status.

8. Early 2025: Repeated Court Absences by Adaobi

Premium Times, Sahara Reporters, and other credible media platforms chronicled Adaobi’s repeated failure to appear in court, contrasting sharply with Ayeni’s consistent presence — underscoring his commitment to disprove her claims.

9. February 2025: Discrediting the DNA Result

Ayeni, on multiple occasions, publicly condemned the DNA result provided by Adaobi, describing it as “compromised and unreliable.” He pointed out inconsistencies — altered release dates, unauthorized modifications, and lab denials — that cast doubt on its authenticity.

10. March 2025: Victory in Court

On Tuesday, March 11th, 2025, a customary court in Dawaki, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, ruled that Adaobi Alagwu cannot claim to be Ayeni’s wife, nor her child be his. Ayeni’s legal team, led by Joseph Silas, subsequently released a statement firmly denying any marriage or paternity. They highlighted the court’s ruling, confirming no marital or biological ties to Adaobi or her daughter Omarosa.

Over the last two years, Ayeni’s consistency — public statements, court appearances, affidavit, and legal filings — has reinforced his stance with Adaobi, even though she continues to cling to illusions despite the legal clarity of the March 11th court ruling that legally confirmed no marriage or paternity link.

While Ayeni clearly broke the sacred marital vows to his wife with a careless relationship with Adaobi that landed him in a media mess, he has thus far owned up to it and taken every step possible to right his wrong. This episode also underscores the vital fact that he wined and dined with a manipulative younger partner who spared no expense in milking him for cash, network, and influence — with the support of her family.

Steps like the Immigration cease-and-desist, affidavit, and even the royal disclaimer reflect a thorough and calculated legal strategy to protect his name, family, and legacy — and why young Nigerian men on social media have come to identify with him.

Lagos court jails pastor 25 years for having sex with biological teenage daughter

A 45-year-old man, Ndukwe Ogbu, who claimed to be a pastor, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison by the Ikeja Special Offences Court in Lagos.

The conviction stemmed from his sexual abuse of his biological daughter on multiple occasions when she was just 14 years old.

Delivering the judgment, Justice Olubunmi Abike-Fadipe held that the prosecution had proven the three-count charge of defilement, sexual assault, and sexual assault by penetration beyond reasonable doubt.

The court convicted Ogbu based on the testimonies of the victim, a medical expert, and a social worker, all of whom corroborated the allegations.

During sentencing, the judge noted that the convict did not show remorse, as his plea for leniency was based on having other children to care for.

“From the evidence before the court, the defendant is found guilty on all three counts. He is sentenced to three years’ imprisonment on count one and 25 years each on counts two and three. The sentences are to run concurrently and will take effect from December 2019, the date of his remand,” Justice Abike-Fadipe ruled.

The prosecution, led by the Lagos State Government, arraigned the convict in February 2021. The trial began in October of the same year, during which three prosecution witnesses testified, including the survivor, a social worker, and a medical doctor. The defendant testified alone in his defence.

The social worker, Femi Oyeleke, told the court that the matter was brought to his attention by a schoolteacher to whom the survivor had confided. He then reported the case to the police.

The survivor also gave detailed testimony, identifying Ogbu as her father and recounting how the abuse started when she was 14. She said he warned her not to tell anyone, but she eventually informed her teacher.

Ogbu denied all the allegations, maintaining that he was not present at the times stated by his daughter.

He acknowledged living in the same apartment but said the girl had her own room. He told the court that his wife had passed away when the children were young and that the others lived with their maternal grandmother in the village.

Former CPC leaders visit Malami over rising insecurity in Kebbi

A delegation of former executives of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, on Monday paid a solidarity visit to former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, amid the growing security challenges facing Kebbi State.

The visit came on the heels of a brazen attack last Thursday by over 300 armed bandits on a police camp in Makuku village, Sakaba Local Government Area. The attackers, suspected to be cattle rustlers, reportedly carted away eight AK-47 rifles from the police and set a patrol vehicle ablaze after a fierce gun battle.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama, who disclosed the incident in a post on X, said the assailants were moving with stolen cattle believed to have been taken from Niger State and were heading toward Zamfara. Troops of Operation FANSAR YANMA and other security units have since been deployed, with search and rescue efforts underway.

Leading the CPC delegation was Alhaji Umar Shuaibu, former party chairman in Niger State. He was accompanied by Alhaji Ibrahim Waziri (Adamawa), Alhaji Hamidu Haruna (Nasarawa), and George Ikyumbur (Benue), who described the worsening insecurity in Kebbi as deeply concerning and deserving of urgent national attention.

In his remarks, Malami thanked the delegation for their show of support, saying the gesture reflected a shared concern for the well-being of the state and the country at large.

“We are in a defining moment,” Malami said. “The attack on a police facility is not just a threat to security agents, but to the safety and confidence of our rural communities. It is time for unity across political lines to confront this menace head-on.”

He emphasized the need for a united and coordinated response to security challenges, adding that peace and development cannot thrive amid fear and violence.

The delegation echoed similar sentiments, calling for stronger collaboration among state and federal authorities to tackle the growing threats posed by armed groups in the North West region.
